Leading up to the US Presidential Election....

One thing is sure, the Presidential Election will cause havoc.

This is not the first time that Mercury has been retrograde during a Presidential election. The last time that happened was the election between George Bush, Jr. and Al Gore in 2001. Do you remember that one? I was on Radio WJR just before that predicting chaos and confusion around and after this Election. If you remember this was an election that went to the Supreme Court and it all came down to Florida. 

George Bush, Jr. was declared the winner of Florida and Al Gore conceded the Election, then he retracted his decision when the votes had been recounted. However, eventually with Supreme Court decision, George Bush eventually won.Well, the news is that this upcoming 2020 Election is going to be far worse. In those days, 2010, even politicians were fairly civil to each other. Now, the gloves are off: as well as Mercury Retrograde we also have aggressive, hotheaded Mars retrograde in Aries adding fuel to the fire.

For months now we have seen and read the passion and sometimes hatred invoked by this Election. I suspect it will get worse.. We can expect high drama, riots and all that we have come to expect but much more intense. Mars retrograde is forming some very difficult aspects with Saturn and Pluto bringing power struggles, conflicts of every kind as well as changes within society.

Whoever wins this Election, we in the US are building up to the first Pluto return ever of the US's birth chart. You can see now some of the problems we will have in the future and especially I think around 2023-2024 when Pluto will return exactly to the location it occupied when the US was founded. This is likely to be a critical time for the US, especially for their economy and our values in the world.

This Pluto return as it is called sounds a karmic note. Since Karma is based on our actions in the past and we are creating it all the time – every second. So the karma of a nation will be mixed – some good but almost definitely over the past few hundred years, quite a bit wrong on many different levels. We are now having to pay the price - we cannot skate around karma - and so, whoever, wins the Election, our national karma will have to play out.

The US is currently the most powerful nation on earth, but will this continue to be the case? In the horoscope of the US, Pluto is located in the second house of money and resources and when Pluto returns to this point, we can expect a big wake up call for the economy. We have been living on borrowed time and borrowed money, with a current deficit of an amount beyond our true comprehension – of approximately 1.2 trillion Dollars. The pressure is on….The second house in astrology also represents our values. We will come face to face with what we truly value, and may question whether we are really living up to our own values individually and as a nation.

We are being shown by the pressure of these extraordinary planetary configurations the need for us to change, and we will be shown the way how to do this if we are courageous and compassionate enough to want to do so. Hatred and division and total intolerance is never the way forward on this planet. It is the way of the past but will not work into the future.

However, in the midst of all this chaos, there is hope. One thing is once we have paid our karma price over the next few years, it will be up to us - all of us and each of us - to rebuild in a more positive, ethical and spiritual way.

We will be assisted in this by another major planetary influence coming in – Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius at that becomes exact at 0 degrees on December 21, 2020.

We are entering unknown territory since the last time Saturn and Jupiter were conjunct in Aquarius was in 1405.

This particular conjunction will set major astrological themes for the next twenty years in motion. This is the beginning of a new 200 year cycle of Saturn in the Air signs.. So in other words, it is a very significant planetary alignment and brings us some hope for the future. - if we are willing to make some personal changes where we consider the good of the whole, rather than be overly attached to our own personal comfort, opinions and beliefs.

This is because we are entering a new and major birthing of Aquarian Age energies. It is when all of this Aquarian impulse – power to the people, humanitarianism, invention, comes to the fore and captures people’s attention and imagination. An organization like the one I have been associated with for over 35 years, The Aetherius Society, will be recognized for what it is – a pioneering Spiritual order founded by Spiritual Master, the late Dr. George King in conjunction with advanced Masters from beyond this Earth.

One of our Teachings is that "politics is not the answer" and as far as I am concerned, I am seeing the truth of this right now when political division is causing hatred and even violence. The Spiritual approach is the only one that will work long term, if we are to survive on this planet. We are all in it together and each of us is responsible for our future. The only way we can sustain our future is through love, respect, understanding, tolerance, self-honesty, kindness, service - and all those qualities that the great Spiritual Masters have taught us down through the centuries. A realization of the greatness of the living Intelligence, the Mother Earth that sustains us and allows us to continue our evolution, and an awakening to that truth and all that it means for our future.

This birthing of a new Aquarian era (not the actual Aquarian Age that began in the 1960s) but a potentization of that; an overlay of that - a realization that we cannot continue in the direction we are now going. A growing realization that we are in this together and so division will not sustain us. A key theme of Aquarius is the fellowship of humanity - spiritual brotherhood - Oneness.
