February is a reasonably quiet month, and begins with Mercury retrograde in Aquarius (moves back from 17 degrees to 1 degrees). If you’re astrology-savvy, see where it hits in your chart and from that you can work out where in your life you should be open to thinking outside the box. For example, if it’s going backwards (or appearing to) in your area of Career, it’s time to rethink the way you’ve been doing business. Mercury remains retrograde until February 11 when this planet of communication goes direct again.
As I think you know by now, it is not a good time to sign new contracts, purchase expensive items or communication devices. However, don’t just stop living – if you have to do these things, just make sure you double check before signing.

This is a good time to edit or re-do things; to purchase or repair old items and research ideas that you would like to put into practice after February 11. So, don’t just do nothing, just think outside the box and work differently. I have found that something that may have been bothering you for a long time can be resolved during Mercury Retrograde.
Mars in Aries
The planet Mars enters the sign of Aries on February 19. Since this planet is the natural ruler of Aries, it is very strong in this sign. You may notice that actions are more direct and aggressive. Temper your competitive, aggressive spirit at this time or there could be fireworks! Also, Mars rules fires and so be careful with turning off heaters and with open flames; we could see some major fires at this time.
This is an impatient combination so tread carefully especially if you live in a cold, icy area as I do. Aries also rules the head in astrology and previously when Mars was in Aries, I managed to slip on the ice, fall on the back of my head and have to be rushed to the ER. Fortunately, although my head swelled up like a cartoon character, since I am an Aries, I was born with a strong head (and as you might guess from the post, I survived). It taught me one of my big lessons – take time and be patient around potentially dangerous situations. This applies to all of us at this time.
Venus in Aries
Mars in Aries is joined by lovely Venus the following day, February 20. Again, however, this planet of love and peace, can become quite aggressive in Aries and when Mars and Venus come together in this way (as they do three times in 2015, which is pretty unusual), we can see competition between the sexes, and other heated scenarios on the rise. Use this Venus/Mars conjunction to learn about the value of cooperation and harmony rather than getting embroiled in heated arguments. It can be very good, though, for competitive sports, as long as you don’t throw caution to the winds.
Moon Phases
The Full Moon in February is February 3 at 6:09 p.m. ET at 14 degrees Leo. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and endings, and often the emotions are on the rise. Since the sign of Leo is connected to creativity, children, romance and fun, you could find yourself emotionally wound up or super intense about something connected to this area of your life. Again, look at where this Full Moon falls in your horoscope to find out how it might affect you (or have me do your Forecast chart).
The New Moon in February is on February 18 at 6:48 p.m. ET at 30 Aquarius. As always the New Moon is a time to begin things or initiate projects. Again, look at where this falls in your horoscope and if the New Moon has any contacts with your natal planets.
