Saturn demands that we define our goals. It demands honesty and simplicity and helps us lay foundations in our life if we are prepared to take a disciplined approach to what we want. And, also, if what we want is the right thing for us; Saturn is urging us to steer away from the glitter of promise and position to the reality of what our goals really mean. The sign of Jupiter that Saturn is now in, is all about expansion and growth, while Saturn helps us build structures for our growth. It is, therefore, about building our growth one step at a time through disciplined practices, whether that is our health, academic studies or spiritual awakening. People often don't think of spiritual advancement in terms of discipline and if they do, are not sure how to do this. I wrote the book: Soul Fitness for this purpose.
This influence of Saturn in Sagittarius will affect us all and many people will be turning to and analyzing their belief systems to see if they still work for them. More and more will people be dissatisfied with beliefs that do not have a practical application. During the next 2.5 years, people may begin to turn away from beliefs they have had all their lives, to ones that are more in keeping with this Aquarian Age. After many years of personal searching, I have now been closely connected to The Aetherius Society for over 30 years and definitely encourage readers to research this out as a Spiritual organization that answers life's most challenging and difficult questions. Also, its philosophy, while being enlightened, wise and incorporating a cosmic aspect, is extremely practical. All of these are elements of Saturn in Sagittarius and I believe that, during these next three years, this organization will gain prominence in the world.
When Saturn enters a new sign of the zodiac, it seems to enhance the qualities of the sign it inhabits. In Sagittarius, there is always a desire to enlarge one's life and vision, a desire for knowledge, wisdom, experience and meaning. Saturn doesn't want us to rush but urges us to be authentic with every step we take. Sometimes the energies of the wonderful planet Saturn can seem frustrating because they slow us down. This is especially true if we are impatient and expect instant results, as is now the way of the world. Saturn teaches us that it takes time to build lasting foundations and through listening to Saturn, we gradually learn the value of patience.
As the Sagittarians among us know, this is a very outspoken and blunt sign. What is in their minds is often on their lips, irrespective of how their information may be received. Like the archer, symbol of Sagittarius, they shoot their arrows straight and true and often hit the mark but Saturn is asking us to temper this with a more disciplined approach. It is reminding us that we are responsible for not just we say and do, but for the effects of our thoughts, words and actions.
Sagittarians are larger than life and love the big picture instead of the details. They are usually fun to be around but like all the signs there is also a negative manifestation. In this case it can be excessiveness and irresponsibility; a desire to be right or a tendency to be dogmatic or rigid in their beliefs and opinions. Saturn in Sagittarius is helping to streamline this energy and fill in some of the details. While the positive thinking and faith of Sagittarius is good, it needs to be based on reality and sound research to be even better. Also Saturn in Sagittarius is reminding us that while it's great to have faith and beliefs in something higher than ourselves, it is much better to put our faith to work through application and service to others. Saturn seeks reality and if we don't accept this calling, we can lose the confidence of Sagittarius and sink into a pessimistic approach. It is important to be aware of this in advance so that if we feel this happening, we can avoid it by working on our beliefs through study - and even better - putting them to work. In this way, we are using the amazingly powerful energies of Saturn to make our dreams for a better life and a better world - a living reality.
Any Sagittarian will tell you that they love freedom. "Don't fence me in!" could be their motto. This is why they love to travel the world and experience many different things. At first, with Saturn in this sign, we may feel that our freedom is being taken away but Saturn is teaching us that, with freedom comes responsibility. We may want to travel the world, but if we haven't worked to make enough money to pay for the airfare it will just be a dream. Saturn is urging us to think in new ways and to realize that true freedom only comes by giving up our freewill - that part of us that wants to do what we want whenever we want with no consequences. Saturn in Sagittarius will wake us up to the fact that attaining the true freedom that comes by abiding by God's Laws - the great Law of Karma - and living in the light of this - is far, far more important than indulging our freewill as we have done for thousands of years on this planet.
It is a time when many people will no longer be satisfied with having a hero or heroine with superficial goals and aims. People will be seeking for the true heroes and heroines of history. My own personal hero is my Spiritual Master, Dr. George King, and I urge you at this time to research his life and mission on this planet - I believe if you do, you will be amazed by what he achieved.
Physically, Sagittarius rules the hips. It is very important during this time with Saturn in the sign that we work on loosening up this part of our body, and our whole body by walking and building flexibility. I noticed that the very day that Saturn went into Sagittarius an old hip problem flared up and I was determined to go back to the regular flexibility exercises I used to do.
Sagittarius rules higher education and the higher mind, intuition. During this transit of Saturn it is a good time to updating one's skills and getting further training. However, what interested us in the past may shift. We may want to add new, more relevant and practical skills to our quiver of knowledge during this time.
Sagittarius is the sign of the teacher and now the teacher will be called to a higher standard. The level of teaching that was acceptable previously may no longer be enough in many cases. The teacher will be expected to live what they are teaching rather than just repeat what they have learned from books. A new standard of wisdom will be expected from spiritual teachers and this may particularly affect the New Age movement. Higher standard will be called for and it will no longer be enough to say that what you believe is true but now teachers will be called to demonstrate the validity of what they are teaching through a mixture of knowledge, research, wisdom, intuition and experiences.
This particular transit will see the wise Elders of our society coming more into prominence. It should be the case that as we age, what we may lose in physical vigor we make up for in mental and spiritual vigor. It is a time, with Saturn in Sagittarius when many people may turn to mentors or wise elders to gain understanding of the eternal truths.
The sign of Sagittarius is future oriented. It is the sign of the visionary. There will be no time to waste in looking back at the mistakes you have made unless you can learn from them and determine not to bring them into your future. It is like a new, clean slate is being presented to you - and that is your future. What you paint on the slate each day of the next 2.5 years is being influenced by the wise and spiritual, practical and profound energies of the planet Saturn. Are you up for the task? I know you are, because this is a vital 2.5 years ahead and time when we can bring a great shift towards evolution on our planet. However, it will take the efforts and hard work of all of us. Now is the time - now is your time!
Lovingly,
Chrissie
